Please do! Practice makes perfect, so using the tools you would use at home will help you become more comfortable in the kitchen. If you don’t have your own, don’t worry! We have plenty of tools to make you feel like you’re a professional.

If you have long hair, make sure it is pulled back. Wear long pants. You will be standing and cooking for long periods of time during class, so wear flat, closed-toe shoes that are comfortable. Sandals, flip-flops, and high heels are a safety hazard and will not be permitted in any Columbus State kitchens.

All participatory classes will be listed as hands-on or demonstration. Hands-on classes typically last two hours and have a maximum capacity of 16 students. Demonstration classes also last two hours and offer the chance to observe the instructor. Demonstrations have a maximum capacity of 24 students unless otherwise noted.

Nuts and other common food allergens are frequently used in our kitchens. If you have a food allergy or dietary restriction, please let us know as soon as possible and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs. Adjustments cannot be made during a class.

To participate in our adult classes, you must be 16 years of age or older to attend. However, we also host classes for kids under 16 and families alike. Alcohol-centered classes and events are open to anyone 21 and older.

We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a class 48 hours prior to its scheduled time if it does not meet the minimum number of guests. We also reserve the right to change a chef or menu previously published.
